I lost my prior DMC-zs20 and had previously used a DMC-zs19. I purchased this camera as the size is convenient and the picture quality outstanding for the price point. I needed a camera that took pictures quickly for my work and so while there are updated options available, this was my choice for a solid performing item. Both Panasonic cameras hold their value and give great point and shoot flexibility. I highly recommend.

a good sweet spot for this family of cameras. 25x zoo is usually enough for us mere mortals. just make sure you get it at a good price, $100 is about right.

The mode dial on this camera makes its features easy to customize to a variety of shooting circumstances- low light, motion, portrait, sports panoramic and others. The battery charges fast and lasts a long time and the picture quality is great. it's a can't miss purchase.

Large screen with a great picture. Takes fantastic pictures at night!...and day of course. Awesome color! Great zoom. Easy to use features. Switch from camera to playback with the flip of a single switch. Makes it easy to scroll through pics quick and delete as needed. Did not come with memory card but we already had a few. Takes a special thin, square battery (comes with one) not regular store bought batteries. This may be a concern to some people who like to carry extra batteries. You will have to special order this type of battery and I have'nt priced one yet. We have not experienced battery life problems, seems to hold a charge well. The panasonic LUMIX series was recommended to us by a friend that has owned many and she was right! I watched seven of these sell on ebay in five minutes and I was lucky to get the last one of the lot! All fourteen sold in one day. Hot item. Geat seller and a GREAT buy .This is by far the BEST camera we have ever purchased! Love it!Read full review
I have been quite happy with my Coolpix S 8100 for 18 months. But it has been like having a temporary girlfriend knowing that she's not 'the one'.(not that I had that luxury ever). I grabbed this ZS19 used and cheap without a charge or a charger just to see what else is out there. The time to replace is before you have to, in MHO. What do you know, it uses the same Charge/data cable as the Nikon, and after charging the battery a couple times it seems to hold up pretty well. The touchscreen is a nice feature, though the resolution is only half the resolution of the Nikon's 3" 921,000 DPI. But I can't really tell the difference. zs19 does seem to make better black on the screen and overall. It focuses quickly and trips off a shot without alot of fidgeting that the s 8100 needed. Yaknow, press the shutter halfway to focus or not focus, back off the zoom and do it again. Fidgety. The lens will reach out and touch someone and macro is easy to use as well. Problem is my son likes it as much as I do and he doesn't want to inherit my leftover Nikon. So I've got to find another one.Read full review
