Bought this product to replace an Olympus EP1. I love the GX1 in general. Its compact, feels pretty good in the hand and looks very well put together. The controls have a sturdy solidity. Its just as small as any camera should go. Any smaller and it will be too uncomfortable to use. The menus are easy to follow. The buttons and controls fall in the right place for my largish hands. I dislike the loud shutter. It sounds cheap compared to the EP1's classy "zippy" sound. The GX1 body, although of high quality lacks the emotional surge i get from handling the beautifully proportioned and balanced EP1. The second dislike is the AEL/AFL lock button which requires 2 pressings to refocus (i have it on focus lock). If anyone knows how to overcome this please let me know. Overall, i love this camera and can see it as my main travel camera together with the 14mm 2.5 or Oly 17 f2.8 (and viewfinder on top :-))Read full review
While this model has been superseded by two newer models, it remains a spectacularly easy-to-use, semi-pro level micro 4/3 body, especially when used with the auxiliary viewfinder. As advertised, this was an open-box item from a US retailer and came with all the papers. The shutter had not been previously fired, so it was truly like new, other than some scuffs on the cardboard box.

Picky about accepting olympus micro 4/3 lenses. Great with M42 primes & big 4/3 lens with adapter. Looks OK and functions well despite trouble with MY micro 4/3 lenses.
