I tried for a couple of days to get this handset registered with the Panasonic base unit. It took me some time to figure out that I had to unregister the handset that I was replacing, since I had already replaced one other handset and was at the maximum of 6 registered handsets. But once I de-registered the handset that I was replacing, this one immediately registered, and worked well after that. Configuring it required a bunch of work, since the default settings aren't real useful, and the configuration menus really aren't what I'd call intuitive. We set these up with voice caller id turned off, auto-talk turned on, etc., so that took a while to get to all those settings in the configuration menus. What was missing here is a registration error that means something. The only error that you get if you are trying to register an extra handset, like the 7th one when only 6 are allowed, is that it won't register. No indication as to the reason, but I'm 100% sure that the base unit knows the reason, but won't tell you. Thought about taking off a star for the difficulty of registering this handset with the base. But that wasn't really a handset problem, it's a usability problem with the whole cordless phone system design. The designers needed to think more about usability. If they had, the would have saved this user a lot of time. On the other hand, this handset is replacing an original 5-year old one that had become difficult to use due to noise. And this one is fine, and will hopefully last another 5 years. This is the second handset that we've replaced in 5 years, the remaining original ones are the ones that don't get as much use.Read full review

I'd watched this kit for quite some time because I was hesitant, now I realized that I should have purchased this repair kit from the start of my phone problems. P1's video tutorial was easy to follow and I've been using my repaired handsets over a week. It does what it is supposed to do and I am quite pleased.

This worked great on my Panasonic phone. The directions weren't the same as the video and my phone wasn't the same as the one in the video. I had a screw on the top right of the circuit board and no antenna screw on the left. I also had two pieces that came off the battery terminal. Only one fell out so I studied the other one to make sure I knew how to put them back on. This repair fix item only has one piece to peel off. I was looking for one on each side like the video said. Also, there is no red writing on one side, so I was confused for a bit. Once I found out there was only one piece to peel off, then I realized how to put it on. My phone didn't have a black conduit piece either, but I pushed ahead, cleaned everything as suggested and put it on and then got it all back together. It works as good as new or better.Read full review

Phone of the future...Land line/cellphone connection works great, easy to setup system comes with 2 handsets and a base. You can add 3 additional handsets (sold separately) to the system. Install your phone book on one handset and it appears on all handsets! Use built-in intercom to call upstairs, downstairs, room to room. Bluetooth pairing will connect this system with up to 2 cellphones which will ring on all handsets from the minute they're in range, effectively giving you access to 3 lines (land line plus 2 cellphones.) Talking caller ID. Easy to read screen. The well designed handsets feel great in your hand. Best phone system ever.
I'm especially impressed with the speaker phone. Folks with whom I've used this feature have remarked at how good the sound quality is.
