Interesting cross of European and American vacuum sensibilities manufactured in China. It has a hose and powered floor brush used on other US market Panasonic canister vacuums as well as many Kenmore canister vacuums manufactured by Panasonic at their plant in Monterrey, Mexico.. These items feel familiarly American as we have seen them on Kenmores and Panasonics for decades. Like all Panasonic vacuums it has a great motor with huge suction so there is no lack of cleaning power. Their motors are typically durable. Materials and finish are to a very high standard. The Chinese made floor brush is indistinguishable from a Mexican made version. Very good quality. However it is let down by it's Euro style features. While it's certainly stylish and has the clever Optiflow diverter cage like their current top of the line models, the bag and bag chamber are much too small. There are only two attachments, a crevice tool and dusting brush, and both are tiny child's toys useless for serious cleaning. There is no upholstery brush or floor brush provided. No turbo brush either. Panasonic usually has excellent full sized attachments so this is a real disappointment. And, where other Panasonic and Kenmore canisters blow filtered exhaust air from the motor back into the canister body to manage heat at the cord reel and electronics, letting it escape from several openings in a diffuse manner, this vacuum blows the exhaust right out the rear of the vacuum. Unlike other Panasonics, the exhaust stream is noticeable and bothersome. The one European feature that is nice are the three castering wheels. It is very maneuverable. Unfortunately for me the lack of acceptable attachments and the small bag chamber make it a poor choice for a working vacuum. Better to buy an MC-CG917, which has a more advanced motor, the same hose, floor brush and Optiflow feature found in this vacuum, but much better attachments and more than double the bag capacity for roughly the same price. Or pop for the MC-CG937 and get variable motor speed allowing you to vary suction for conditions with a slide control on the hose handle. I love Panasonic vacuums but give this one a pass. They have functionally better machines for you.Read full review
