This shaver by Panasonic is a beautifully constructed piece of equipment, and a great value. My only issue with it is that it is a little difficult to shave longer whiskers with it. Perhaps the holes in the screen are smaller than I would like, so if I skip a day shaving, I have to really go over areas more than once, and sometimes resort to a blade. But I do like it, and the wet/dry functionality is very useful.

I had an earlier Panasonic electric shaver with a much more robust construction, which lasted a DECADE with replacement of foil and blades. This model here has a much flimsier construction, and the battery when fully charged lasts less than half as long before it is drained. In addition, the head assembly isn't capable of getting all my beard hairs without extensive repeats over the same spots, if at all. The first time I used it I had to recharge it THREE TIMES to get a close shave. I NEVER had any such difficulties with the earlier model. At this point I'd get the old model refurbished if I could find the parts, which isn't easy.

This was to be a replacement for my all time favorite 20 year old Panasonic ES8036. It shaves well for its small head size and its pop up trimmer is truly outstanding. The trimmer is better than my old ES8036. On the minus side, It's kind of small to use as an everyday shaver. The small head size makes for a slower, but still a close, shave. No snap on head guard is included. Also not included is a carry bag or case of any kind. This makes it unhandy for travel. Quality seems to be very good. Looks like shaver head parts are available making it maintainable. I'd say it's well worth its price if you don't mind the minuses.

Don't fall for the 14000 rpm triple- (and quad-) blade Panasonics and Brauns. If you have stubble that is really hard to shave, this is the one to get. At 14000 rpm or whatever, you're just going to bash the stupid buzzing razor over your face and wear out the battery. The imitations, unfortunately, imitate the high speed and not the sharp blades of the brand names, and are even more useless. Buy this one. My old one, an ES4026, 10 years old, worked much better than a recent Panasonic Arc3, not even close. Had to get this one, which is sort of a successor to the ES4026, because that one fell on the floor with the blade housing off, and popped a spring or something, couldn't put it back together. It shaves just as well, even better actually, since the blades are new.

I have used many electric shavers over the years. This little machine is much quieter than I expected, feels well balanced with low vibration and shaves surprisingly close. Also, of equal importance is the low cost. Two of these shavers can be purchased for the cost of one replacement head for my hi-end Panasonic electric shaver. Another nice feature is the absence of tangled cords on the charger. There is no cord. The shaver snaps into its charging stand which plugs into a receptacle. Clever design. I recommend this shaver for anyone, like me, with sensitive skin on their neck.
