This is my third purchase of a portable DVD player and this is by far the best model yet. We use this when taking short trips here and there for the convenience. I must say that, at least so far, this is quite a fine little player. It has the structure and feel of a high-quality piece of equipment, i.e., it is solid and the buttons do not have that cheap plastic feel as some low-end models (like Sylvania). The screen size is just right, the transport registers the DVD quickly, and screen adjustments can be made to suit any aspect ratio. I wish my main DVD player had such fine tuning. It is a bit heavy if you are watching on your lap. The composite RCA video/audio cables work as expected - we use these a lot to play movies through the TV monitors in hotel rooms. There is no remote, but honestly, most people do not need this for a portable. The speaker sound is not so great if playing on its own, but it is just fine for the purpose. The battery seems to have a longer life than other players I have had, and charges pretty quickly. During play, it has quiet operation - unless you are right on top of it, you would not notice any irritating playback noise. The screen positioning is flexible enough for most purposes. Overall, it does exactly what we wanted it to do and most people should be very content with this player!Read full review
The main reason I bought this player was the fact that the screen tilts forward rather that swiveling back and forth. It makes it much easier to watch if the player is sitting in your lap in the car or even sitting on the table next to you. The sound is great since the speakers are located near the screen (an excellent choice since this player tilts). The fact that it's a little wide is great for watching the widescreen version of a movie. The buttons are easy to get to, but since a few of them are on the edge of the player it's easy to inadvertently push something you didn't mean to. All in all this is a great player. I bought this for my daughter yet I find myself trying to use it more than she does.
This DVD player is excellent! If there's one on the market with 1/2 the battery life (13hrs), I couldn't find it. The screen is HiRes and it looks Great on a moniter too. The sound from the speakers is adequit but on Headphoons or with a moniter it sounds Great again. I also like that it can play DivX files. I burned 10 full lenght movies onto One DVD+R DL and they all look and sound great I only wish it had a FF and FR but this will do for now!!! That's 3 "Greats" and 1 "Excellent", Not bad.
I have several of these DVD players, which I use to study video college courses. I like the external battery, which can be easily removed and swapped.

For the price of $140.00 you could not ask for a better value. The battery after the first full charge of an over night dose lasted for 3 movies no problem. Since then it shows the same power even as it charges off the car charger. The light glare on the screen may be a little problem to some but the adjustment should help most. The screens adjustment is great you can tilt it to virtually any position. It comes with a mounting bracket with straps but you may want to purchase something better. It doesn’t come with a carrying case which is being cheap by Panasonic but it probably would be cheap anyway. Overall it being our first the kids love it and peace is well worth the money.
