It's been since the 90s that I had my last system. I was unaware that some brands of speakers that used to be the best have fallen off. I remember Pyle being a decent brand back then so I purchased 2 of these to replace the cheap speakers that came in a cheap little box that I bought from Wal-Mart. The 2 original speakers that came in the box blew immediately once I hooked them to a small amp I installed. That's why I got 2 of these just to try. They play fine I'm the little box and they didn't explode when I put some juice to them. Granted I didn't put a lot of power to them but I did put more than the rated 300 watts per speaker to them and they handled it fine. I wish I could say how much power I pumped into them but I don't understand amps nowadays. A 3000w amp today doesn't seem to hit as hard as a 300w amp from the early 90s. Today's high end hardware is certainly better but there is also a lot of lying going on also as far as power output is concerned. Read full review

I was looking for a cheap replacement of the Infinity midranges I installed 13 years ago on my jetta mk4. As it is a beater car I didn't want to spend much money. Well I got a pair and the sound is rejuvenated. And It does give some decent bass for a 6.5 inch speaker. Much better that the infinitys it replaced. The only problem is that it is bulky magnet and the window did not roll down completely. I had to buy 1 inch spacers and problem solved. I will definetly recommend these. As I mentioned they replaced somo quite expensive infinity midranges and I am very pleased with the results. I have to mention that these speakers are hooked trough a passive crossover to a nice alpine amplifier with high pass filters. A different setup may give different results.

I bought these for my 2005 Toyota Prius. The speakers are the right size but the screw holes are not far enough to the edge of the speakers. To make it work I just bent the edge flat next to the holes and took a dermal and ground the screw holes closer to the edge of the speakers. It has a bit more mids than the originals, but overall for the price it is a excellent replacement.

I used these to replace some Earthquake shallow 6.5 subs. The Earthquake sub bass deminished after only 1 day, caused by weak spider glue. The Pyle fit good enough in my Crossfire doors but I couldn't reuse the top mounting plate because the rubber surround has the thick cardboard clamping it down. But it still sounds good. I hear bass only and not as much vocals like on the Earthquakes. And they are more sensitive so you can use a low power amp of about 50X2 at the most or they'll blow. There was a lot of excess glue used that was touching the rubber as shown in picture. It needed to be peeled off or max excursion would have been limited and sound output compromised. I have mine playing free air style and electronic crossover is set at 90hz-400hz. Good luck with yours.
