Need these for Hardie siding
These are exactly what you want for cutting hardie siding. Even though they're the less amperage model, they still power through no problem. They cut the cement board slow, fast, straight, curved, any way you want. Zero dust, just little worms or snakes from the shear width.

Bought this for my dad, he had a really old pair (20+ years old) and needed a new pair for a hardie plank siding job. They are so much better than the old pair he has and they cut fiber cement like butter and no dust!

Way better alternative to a saw
It cuts as fast as a circular saw but without all that nasty dust. Works amazingly well actually. Don't use it on thicker trim pieces, but for the cement fiber siding itself, this is the right tool for the job.

I didn't expect a lot from this tool, but it surprised me. Like many power tools it has a variable speed trigger. I find that you can avoid all of the problems mentioned by others by just taking it slow.
