Power Sewing is a staple in every sewer's personal library and if not-- it should be! Sandra Betzina provides clear, direct and well organized text accompanied by amazingly detailed & appropriately coordinated photographs. Her greatest skill, epitomized in this book, is providing the sewer with innovative methods of approaching common sewing tasks. And Betzina's techniques truly work better and are ultimately easier than the original "how to" you learned in 1970's home-ec class! While clearly not a book for the "I've-never-thread-a-needle" folks, this is a masterful edition for anyone who wants to become a better seamstress and/or tailor. It has repeatedly sold-out of each edition, so try to locate the most recent year of publication. Additionally, the hard-cover comes with an extremely convenient spiral binding which enables the book to be placed completely flat on a table: a real bonus for those following the step-by-step directions as they sew! This book is worth its weight in gold!Read full review
I'm improving my sewing skills and I wanted this book to add to my resources. I just breezed through the book, and it seems like very interesting reading and very informative.
