Lokking for an iron to increase my green approach from 150 I could not reach them with my glass shaft club.Tried a number of others but no consistency. Was told ping was to heavy an unwieldy for finesse shots.I saw used clubs that offered some hope here. This club has answered all my issues and does not need forceful strokes Once you get your timing it's like cruise control.Even better the whole deal was 20 bucks.
The Ping I5 is exactly like everyone says. Very forgiving and easy to hit good shots. I get good high ballflight and the clubhead is light (like all ping irons) so you can really give it a good swing. You will be satisfied and decide to purchase a full set.
I5 irons are the first of the current group of irons designed for mid handicappers. Followed by the I10 and I15. Design has changed little since the I5. They are not as strongly lofted as newer clubs like Burners so not a club for those who are hung up on their distance. Great quality! Con: Way too many color dot choices and people who have no Idea what they need.
Very accurate 2 iron great off the tee or from the fairway. Really like the lighter wieght of the Ping irons which give you 5-10 yards of distance. I can hit this club about 235 yards off the ground and around 240 from the tee. Great also in high winds of texas. Highly recommend Ping irons to anyone who wants solid feel but outstanding forgiveness. Makes me better every round.
I own a set of I5 Ping irons, (3-SW). The 2 iron is an addition to that existing set of irons. The 2 iron is a very versatile club which is an excellent choice to use in many situations, esp long par 3s. The fact that the club was available on ebay rather than at a local pro shop almost guaranteed a competitive price that was hard to resist.
