Adding another wedge was fairly easy decision as I already had 3 M/B to different lofts. For perspective, I am also very fond of the Cleveland RTG variety, but the sole on the Ping separate them for the rest for at least this 8 capper. These clubs set up easily, and provide an OK visual to most eyes, but the versatility makes them special. Tight fairway, rough or sand, it is easy to handle with this wedge. Most of the other wedges have strengths and weaknesses, but this Ping wedge does well in all environments. The feel lacks the smoothness of the Cleveland, but then I do not have the issue with fighting between fat & thinned shots as I did with the RTG. Did I say that the sole makes all the difference ?
I have been hitting the MB series for probably 10 years. I have seen my son and others fall in love with the Vokey, and tried them, but I just can't get away from the Ping MB. For years, I hit the 52,56,60 and used the pitching wedge from my matched set, but 2 years ago, found a 48 degree MB and dropped the matching callaway wedge and am a better wedge player for it. On a recent trip, the airlines must have bent it, so I bought a new one (ok, USED one). This is a good club, with good feel, and good ball flight for me. I am a 4 hdcp, who has 100-102MPH clubhead speed with the driver. Hope that helps.

These are the only wedges I have tried that work very well at all aspects of the game. I tried most of the top name clubs, including the Ping Tour, before I bought. The MB's have a confidence inspiring feel. You can get a good used set on ebay for the same price a new one would cost for just one at a golf store. They seem to hold their looks well. I don't think you could buy a better all around wedge.
I've used many wedges over the course of my game. I've used Nike SV, Rac Black TP, and Cleveland CG10 and CG11. But the Ping M/B 52 degree and 58 degree, were some of the best most consistent wedges I've used. I had a better feel for the wedges and the ball generally went were I was aiming. They also seem to hold their shine and color very well, as with the Rac TP's the black wears off within 3 rounds. And for the price they just can't be beat. If your looking for a inexpensive wedge that performs this set is definetly for you.
I rate this club as Very good equipment. I am new to Golf. I got it, took it to the Driving Range to practice Bunker shots (what a flop I turned out to be!). A Guy next to me said hey, let me show you something about Bunker shots-then HE proceeded to demonstrate the skill he had. He told me that this is one of the best Wedges he had ever used. He said he was going to go on ebay and try to find one for himself. Later, I found out he was a Teacher!
