I own about 10 or so of the "Pure Audio" Blu-Ray series of releases. I'm sad to say that all of them have been complete let downs as far as the format is concerned. I was also disappointed that the free download that comes with some of these is just an MP3 download, not a High Resolution or even 24bit/96kHz download. Some titles are better than others, but overall the surround sound was all over the place. I thought that these disc would be the final straw for the SACD format, but I have DVD-A DTS Dolby 5.1 disc that sound better than most of the titles in this series. According to the manufacture of these disc, they state that some tracks will not play at a higher resolution or in 5.1 to preserve the quaility of the sound. This title is the only Blu-Ray disc that truly blows away any other multichannel disc I own. First it Is the only Blu-Ray disc that I have that plays back in 24bit/96kHz in 5.1 DTS Dolby Master Audio. It sounds like a Blu-Ray movie. The sound and resolution is consistent throughout the whole disc. The vocals come through the center channel, as they should, and the surround sound is totally encompassing. The others I own claim to play in the same resolution, but the vocals are all over the place. The second thing that is great about this Blu-Ray disc is that it comes with a choice of downloads. You can either download 24bit/96kHz Flac format or ACC for iPods. I own a portable High Resolution player and it sounds amazing through a nice set of quaility headphones. I also like the packaging. The cover is a gatefold cardboard folder that has a booklet on one side and the disc side has a liner similar to the material that Japanese vinyl has to keep the disc from getting scratched. The last thing I find great about this release is that it has several extra tracks. Some are live tracks and others are "B-sides" to singles. This is a very well remastered and produced version of this album. This Blu-Ray release is the only one that I can say has truly blown me away by the sound and the quaility of the recording. I have many Japanese SACDs and some are great, others not so great. This Blu-Ray disc makes me hopeful that other companies will get this new format worked out and sound as incredible as this classic Tom Petty album sounds in 5.1 DTS Dolby. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a nice surround sound setup with the right equipment to playback the best sounding 5.1 Disc I have ever heard.Read full review

If you have a good surround system then crank this baby up! It rocks and the 5.1 is excellent! Lots of extra songs also in 5.1. This disc is packed with goodies. It's pricey so make sure you shop around.

One of the best bluray audio 5.1 mixes and HQ stereo sound. These extra tracks from the same period are mixed in 5.1 too! This is the album that launched that band into being recognized as the best R & R band of that era.
