Purchased DLP vs. LCD because I cannot deal with screen door effect that LCD gives off. I do not see any rainbow on this picture. Epson 8350 is definitely brighter with better black levels if you can deal with the screen door depending on how far you will sit from the picture. In dark room the Epson is not worth the diffence in price. I also compared side by side with the new Viewsonic 8200 pro in my house. This is very similiar picture quality and characteristics. The Viewsonic is slightly brighter, but I was able to get the color more accurate on the Optoma. Very happy with picture quality with controlled light. I have been able to turn up brightness, contrast and adjust gamma to offset light during the day with some loss of black levels and color depth. I notice it, but guests still rave about the picture even under those conditions. Fabulous at night time in HD and with Blu Ray. For the price, I am very pleasedRead full review
I love this projector so much that once I bought it, my brother had to buy one, then my beat friend, then my brother in law, and just recently, my nephew. The 1080p is crystal clear and it is BRIGHT. It does everything that I need in a projector but know that I havr a dedicated theater room for it. There is no horizontal keystone so it has to be pur in the center of the viewing area. This projector has not failed to impress anyone yet and for the price, it is the best projector I have ever seen...and I buy and sell electronics professionally.
