This receiver is easy to use and the sound quality is very good. It has a fail safe in order to keep it from surging and burning the system up. You have to unplug it and leave it unplugged for a couple of hours to reset. You will know the fail safe is engaged if it power on amd than cuts off immediately. Than the system comes on and works just like normal after the fail safe is reset by unplugging it for a couple of hours. This is a great system, very easy to use and easy set up. This system is so easy that my three year old operates it with no problem.

My wife got a set of Yamaha NS-PA40 speakers from work, and I needed a good amp to power them. This one is perfect for what I wanted to pay. The Onkyo with the speakers sounds awesome. This Onkyo has great pre-set controls that really allow a great sound. The bass is wonderful. I love the bluetooth, too. I'm not an audiophile, nor do I want to invest the time to become a surround sound geek. I just wanted a good, quality sound with a fairly easy to use receiver, and that's what this Oknyo does for me. I'm sure it has much more capability than I plan to use. I would definitely recommend this product.

I got one of these on eBay, because it was not working, and the price was "dirt" cheap! Got it fixed, for less than $70.00! All told, I now have a "Newly Recondition" TX-SR313, for less than $90.00! Shipping not included! I got it home, set it up, and was instantly pleased with it! I have a set (3) of KLH Model-09, cubes, matched with a Bose Accustimass 3 speaker system, (2 single cubes, with a floor bass module). I turned to several FM radio stations, and got great reception, with No, background hiss, or other unwanted noise! YOU have to turn the volume up on it, to get good sounds, depending on the station. I mostly use it for a surround-sound in my basement, because the flat screen TV sound, is awful! I was so pleased with the system, that I went back on eBay, and got TWO (2) more of these receivers! They all have a Bose Accustimass 3 speaker system, matched, with either the KLH Model-09 speakers, OR, the old Radio Shack Realiistic Minimus-7 metal speakers! I guess, by having THREE (3), of these Onkyo TX-SR313's, it should speak for itself! It has FOUR (4), HDMI inputs, and ONE (1), HDMI output! You can connect four devices, like a game console, Blu-ray disc, or any HDMI device! You can also, connect any non-HDMI device that has the RCA connectors, to it. Your old cassette player, VCR, CD, etc., etc! All, in all, a great entry-level system for either "Normal" stereo listening, OR, as the "Heart", of a "5.1 Surround-sound" system! A great, awsome, system anyway you decide to use it!! YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RECEIVER TO ALL LOOKING FOR A GREAT, LOW COST, ENTRY-LEVEL 5.1 SYSTEM! WAY TO GO - ONKYO! .....MIKE T.Read full review
First off, I am not an audio guru. I just wanted surround sound with my big screen and I don't have powerful speakers as I am using the ceiling speakers, so I don't need tons of power. The product came very well packaged, got it in a timely fashion, it was in perfect condition and I found it was easy to set up and to operate. What a big difference in sound from the on board TV speakers! Since it was on sale, I think it was a very good bang for the bucks. I also found a Polk center speaker and sub woofer on sale at eBay.
This is my second one of these. I had one for my TV and I bought a second to use for music. Easy to use, flexible, good sound, and so on. I love it.
