The book was okay. It was not as "juicy" as I expected, because it was obvious that this book was written by a mature individual, who has taken extreme care to heal inside and out in order to write this book. Brenda Stoner-Bowder could have truly tore into J.L. King. She did not, however she made it quite clear that it took sometime to get to that point in her life. It was interesting to get J.L. King's wife side of the story. She cleared up some of the questions I had about things he discussed in his book. Brenda Stoner-Bowder talks about how her life and the life of her children has changed as a result of finding out about her husbands double life. It was refreshing to read about her perspective on this "down low" life style. She appears to be extremely honest about being naive and how difficult it was to recover and move on. Brenda Stoner-Bowder attempts to match J.L. King chapter for chapter, clearing up events as she remembered them. I would recommend this book, it isn't as explosive as I thought it would be, but it is interesting.Read full review
Oh my God, what can I say except hats off to this lady. Women by nature are just strong creatures any way, but it truly takes a strong woman to endure some thing like this. I highly commend her for having the courage to get out and remain strong and not lose who she was in the midst of it all. Women it is time to educate ourselves about what is really going on in this world. This is not a fairytale this is truth and facts all day long. Stop looking the other way and pay attention before it is too late.
I read the book On the Down Low which was an excellent book. Therefore I bought On the Up and Up because each story has two sides. So I wanted to know the wife point of view.
