I own several Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras, and their quality and image making ability is superb. I found this Olympus "tough camera" used in a pawn shop, and I'm delighted to report that Olympus carries over all the quality of their larger and more expensive cameras to these environmentally sealed and shock resistant hard use cameras. These are not cheap point and shoot cameras inside of a sealed housing. The colors are Olympus, the menus and art filters and shooting options are Olympus, and the camera even uses the Olympus data cable and can be updated using Olympus software. They take standout photographs that any Olympus camera user will recognize as from a quality, Olympus camera. The movie feature on my camera works great, with no issues. Try, before you buy. Oly seems to have fixed any problems by the time my copy was made. Every point and shoot camera, should be this good. The Olympus processing engine hammers out reliable and fast auto focus, the lens is fairly slow, but it's a sharp as a honed razor, and this gadget works with the same reliability and ease as the top end cameras in the Olympus line. ISO, exposure values, and metering are adjustable. The shutter and aperture are controlled by the camera. There are four image size options and two compression settings. If you want a real Olympus camera in a "tough camera" point and shoot package, this is your camera. Set it on Auto, or Program, and point and shoot. Try the famous Olympus Art Filters, which include Pop Art and Dramatic Tone. There is a Scene mode for night, kids, cats, dogs, fireworks, Oly's excellent "Face Recognition", and beauty shots, and more. This is a wonderful camera, besides being a hard knocks "tough camera".Read full review

I have owned several Olympus tough cameras. This one is the first IHS camera. After several tests I have concluded this camera to be the best. The only drawback, it is a little bigger and heavier than the TG 310, 320 and Stylus Tough 3000. It is the nicest camera I own. The GPS works great, with the Olympus Viewer app you can get all your GPS locations. Best is the camera, It is the only digital movie camera you will ever need. Works underwater, this is very cool.

I bought an older version of this camera in 2012 and I have taken it everywhere. It has been in freezing rain and sleet, bounced around in my bag in caves and rappeling, I even have hi-def video of me cliff diving 30 feet. When I first bought it and it was under warranty I opened it, turned it on, held it straight out, and dropped it on concrete... It turned off but powered right back up and I have never had a problem. If I had any need to buy a new camera, which I don't because it has held up to the test, I wouldn't think twice about getting another stylus tough. A+ .......... The only downside to mine is that panoramic isn't a continuous shot when you move the camera... it tells you where to move it to for the next shot and if not on a tripod it is very difficult to get perfect panoramic shots... hopefully they have changed that with this new model.Read full review
It is a good camera to take anywhere. Being a underwater camera it is great for cruising. So you can take snorkeling as well as on land. Making it covenant to only have to have one camera.

I have three of these TG-830. Use them underwater all around the world both salt and fresh water. Never had one fail and never leaked water into the camera. I have dropped the dozens of times. Great camera and value.
