Some may say my 12" 60 year old Sears band saw doesn't amount to much. When I install an Olson All Pro 1/2" 3tpi blade and resaw Brazilian Rosewood, Desert Ironwood and Ebony as if it were Cherry or Walnut it gets quiet in the shop for a bit. When I'm done they are checking the blade with their thumb. Impressed I guess, as I was as well when I first used Olson All Pro band saw blades. They are about twice the cost of hardware store variety blades but last so much longer that I believe them to be an absolute bargain. I just realized that the All Pro blades are the only blades that I have in the shop. I suppose that says it all.

I build guitar necks, so resaw very hard wood for the fingerboards (rosewood, bokote, ebony, etc). I've always just bought whatever cheap bandsaw blades Menards/Home Depot stocked, and they wear out quickly and it's hard to get a straight cut. I end up with a lot of waste because of the blade wandering. I just got this Olson All-Pro blade and couldn't believe the difference! It cuts through hardwood like butter with straight, smooth cuts and no waste! I was able to get three 1/4" fingerboard blanks out of a piece that measured less than an inch thick. I was never able to do that before. Considering the cost of the exotic hardwoods I'm using with less waste, and the extra time it used to take to sand down imperfect cuts, this blade is a bargain and will pay for itself in no time!
