Torn jacket and yellowed pages. However I'm happy to see that the wear goes no further than that. I see no noticeable damage of the content inside and feels like it can sustain many more years of use.

This was in unacceptable condition. It looked like it was in a puddle. I was afraid to touch it. I contacted the company and no response. Pay a little extra and avoid this one. Book content itself is awesome, best series I've found yet

If you are not already a fan of Dean Koontz, you will be soon. His books are thoughtful, well constructed, intelligent, with likable characters and unexpected twists. Odd Thomas is no exception. Probably one of his most likable characters to date, and that is saying a lot. Although I enjoyed the book from the beginning, I don't think I became emotionally invested until somewhere in the middle. It creeps up on you. Then all of a sudden you find yourself scared that something bad will happen to Odd, or to one of his friends. I can't really comment too much on this book without giving something away, which I abhor doing. Once again Koontz takes us out of the mainstream, and makes up his own rules along the way. Read it for yourself, but make sure you have the other 2 books ready to jump into when you are done.Read full review
I love Dean Koontz. Oh, yes, I do. Until this book Watchers had been my favorite of all of his books. This story, though, has one of the most likable characters to ever grace the pages of a book. You won't just like Odd, you will fall in love with him. The plot is gripping and strange. It pulls you in and keeps you in suspense and shows a whole Odd World where there are many twists and turns. The characters who surround Odd are all engaging in their own way. Odd is...well Odd. He has a strange life. He can see the dead. They don't talk but they do communicate with him. He helps them if he can in between his job as a fry chef, chilling with Elvis, or spending time with his soul mate, Stormy. Odd and Stormy are so sweet together, and their love is pure. They are meant to be together...after all they have matching birth marks and a card from a fortune teller to prove it. The romance of Odd and Stormy is a subplot in this book, but sweeter than most romance novels. Definitely follow Koontz through this intense journey of love, suspense, strangeness & mystery. This novel does not disappoint. I have continued this series. I found Forever Odd to be a disappointment, and Brother Odd to be much better than Forever Odd, yet still lacking the initial charm of Odd Thomas. I've not yet read Odd Hours, but will write a review when I do. Even without the other books in the series, Odd Thomas will delight, and is a good standalone book. Be warned, however, you will fall in love with him and you will have to read on.Read full review
