David Barton does a fabulous job of explaining the “Original Intent” of our founding fathers when it comes to the 1st Amendment and our rights of religious freedom. It is very clear to me now that, our founders relied heavily on divine providence for guidance and never meant for a separation of church from state. They meant exactly what the 1st Amendment says, that government cannot institute a state religion...nothing more, nothing less. We should look to the “Original Intent” of every part of the Constitution, and not judicial review as we so often do.

My husband wanted this book because it traces the original intent of the constitution on Freedom of Religion against today's anti-religion position of schools, public offices, groups such as the ACLU, and government at all levels. He is finding it well-written and well-documented with lots of references between court cases and original intent of our founding fathers. A good book for anyone wondering what has happened to "In God We Trust" in America.
