I found this putter very easy to line up, yet a little on the bulky side as far as size goes. The white steel insert is very firm, and made lag putting a breeze. However, I think the extra large size of the putter and the three balls in a row, made me follow the putter back with my eyes most of the time. To make a good stroke, you need to keep your head still, and your eyes still as well, and it was hard to do with all that stuff moving down there. All and all though, a very solid putter if you can get past the looks.
I am an avid golfer, and thought this putter would be a good fit for me. It is very well made with high quality components. The price was also way below the retail price sen in many pro shops. So far, I have only been able to try it out on my bedroom rug. The greens in Alaska will not be available for several months yet. I am not that impressed with the TR 3ball putter. It seems to be bulky and clumsy. It would probably be OK on the greens, but not putting from the fringe or short rough. Perhaps my opinion will change with some use on the course, but I think I will probably sell it to someone else, or give it away as a gift. Oddysey makes alot of really good putters. I like the two ball model and a couple of the other mallets that they offer. Their blades are also really high quality.Read full review
This putter is excellent when the ball is in a range of up to 5 yards from the hole. When it is further out on the green it becomes difficult (for the average player like me - HCP 14 -) to measure the appropriate power for the distance. Very good to get the line. A bit too light but very well balanced. I bought it to change my old White Steel 2 Balls Center Shafted but I think I will return to my old putter.
If you like a mallet putter this is the one. I have been having trouble with my putting as I don't think I was lining up right. I used this last week for the first time. I must have 1 putted half the greens. Not sure why but when you line up the balls you know exactly where the ball is going to go. Inside 5 feet you can close your eyes. But I was surprised how well long put went too. Try it in the store and you can get it for about a third less on ebay brand new.
good balance, dropped about 7 strokes on my first round.
