A bizarre mix of genres, moods, and themes, this brilliant noir comedy took me by surrpsie in the best way possible. Steve Martin gives a tasty, layered performance as Frank Sangster, the traditional noir dude: living a ‘perfect’ life, meets an evil and succumbs to it. But there are many aspects of the film which disqualify it as a true film noir, and that’s why it’s so fun. I’ve seen plenty of films I can predict from the opening moments to the end, and Novocaine is one of those films I just had no idea what would happen next. Add a outrageously sexy performance by the ever-fascinating Helena Bonaham Carter and a hysterical cameo role by Kevin Bacon, and Novocaine ends up the freshest, best film I saw in 2002.
Funny silly and if you like Steve Martin as I do check it out..

It was in great new condition. I just expected more comedy with the actors and actresses involved.

hi this is a fantastic movie that captures what men are really like, and what they are really looking for, true love, excitement, fun, and someone who really loves them and most of all wants to share their lifetime dream, and they don't care what they have to go through to get it as in the end it is always worth it, even if they have to waite nearly a lifetime to get it!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve Martin was fantastic in this dark comedy about a dentist's disfuntional life!I have watched numerous times and it is always great!
