This movie reviewing the life and death of Notorious BIG was OK but it failed to deal with a very important and well known fact... the involvement of Darryl Gates and all his accomplices who were guilty of hindering the investigations of both the Biggie and Tupac murders. All who tried to impartially investigate or testify regarding the murders were either threatened with suspension and or death. Having an uncooperative wittiness is nothing new to murder investigations. In fact it is normal behavior for most people to be unwilling to tell what they know. This movie could have ignited a national demand by the many fans of both these talented men to both force the L.A.P.D to finally reveal the truth that they already know regarding who was responsible. And,that some of the guilty were /are possibly still among their ranks today. Although the roles were well acted, for me, this movie offered nothing that the fans did not already wittiness in the real-life drama that was played out right in front of our eyes. It is no wonder why this movie did not have a long run in movie theaters across the country. Fans of these two men don't want a review of what they already know, they want insight from those involved, from those who were there at the time of both deaths, and most of all something that gives us the true answer to why these murders happened, Who were responsible, and when will a true investigation, prosecution, and sentencing of the guilty will occur. They investigate sports improprieties, they investigate political improprieties, why not investigated real life crimes like first degree murder. This film had the opportunity to create a massive public demand for L.A.P.D. to unbiasedly investigate, prosecuted, ans sentence all responsible for these murders. I'd rather know this truth rather than weather Barry, A-Rod, or whomever took steroids.Read full review
Finally glad a bio-pic was made on Notorius BIG. There are so many documentaries, but not really any feature films. The casting director did a great job on casting for Biggie's character, but P Diddy and Tupac casting flopped. If you move beyond the mediocre casting, the story gives a pretty accurate account of the life Biggie lived from rags to riches--and all setbacks of fame. If you're a fan of 90s Hip Hop, especially legends of it, this is a must-see.
In just a few short years, Notorious B.I.G. rose from the streets of Brooklyn to become one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time. B.I.G. was a gifted storyteller; his narratives about violent life on the streets were told with a gritty, objective realism that won him enormous respect and credibility. His stories were universal and gave a voice to his generation. A complex and involving biopic about the Notorious B.I.G. that never quite gives the full picture of its enigmatic central figure, but a good movie in many ways.
It's as good as my expectations and my expectations run high. Enjoy a great movie !!It gives a rare a look at a hip-hop artist life from youth until he was mysteriously killed in L. A. Notorious is a very entertaining movie about the life of Chris Wallace AKA Notorious B. I. G. It wasn't lacking at all and it gave me special features that were very helpful and let me know who the man behind the music was.............R.I.P. Notorious.
Good history of hip hop origin
