It makes your bacon but you have to be ready with an extra set of thongs or an extra fork because the walls stay up when you open the doors and they are too hot to pull down with your fingers. I have practiced with it when it is off and cold and 2 out of 10 times the walls will stay stuck in upward position. So i know i am not putting them on incorrectly. When it gets hot is when they stay up 100% of the time. I thinkthe metal contracts with the heat causing the snaps not to lock.

I like this, but the side panels to do not stay in place. So it can be difficult to close and keep doors closed. Also if bacon is too thick, the doors do not close until bacon is thinning during cooking. The idea is great, but has issues. It does cook the bacon nicely though. Very easy clean up and no mess on counter.

While I purchased this as a gag gift for someone we did put it through it's paces. I generally buy one of the thicker cut bacon's like Blue Ribbon or Wrights. We tried the Blue Ribbon. To be fare this bacon is thick and takes forever in a skillet too. But one full pass in the Bacon Express and it was about 80-85 done in my opinion. So I hit it again and finally manage to get it cooked to my satisfaction. That took about 14-16 minutes. We put one pound total through the cooker and it did OK. I've now purchased one of the cheaper, thinner bacons but haven't had a chance to try it yet. I'm pretty confident this will do better and cook quicker with the thinner bacon. It definitely gets the grease out and cleanup was as simple as pulling the side inserts and center insert off (no tools required) and putting them in the dishwasher. It has a tray in the bottom that captures the grease/moisture. it was easy to slid out, grease thrown out and then placed in the dish washer. No stove to clean up that's a plus. Honestly this is for the person or persons that want 6 to 12 pieces of bacon in the morning while their getting ready for work or getting the kids ready and don't have the time to stand over the stove to cook bacon and don't want to pay the high price for the pre-cooked microwave bacon. The unit works as advirtised. For some folks it will be to much work and for others it will be perfect. such as life. Will i use it in the futur? Probably. Epecially if its just me in the kitched i/m cooking for. KT Burleson, TexasRead full review

BACON DOESN'T COOK EVENLY. HAVE TO TRIM LENGTH OF BACON BEFORE YOU CAN FIT IT INTO THE MACHINE. BACON BURNS CRISP ON TOP BUT THE HANGING ENDS ARE STILL PRETTY RAW! I SAY....KEEP YOUR SKILLET. ALTHOUGH THE GREASE SPLATTER IS COMPLETELY TAKEN CARE OF WITH THIS COOKER, IT IS THE ONLY GOOD POINT I CAN FIND ABOUT THE MACHINE.
