I like the flexibility of the Electro 5D as it is easily configurable for using in live environments. Splitting the keyboard and making changes on the fly is easy. The setlist mode is also quite easy to program and adjust. Great improvements to this keyboard.

You see lots of these on stage, on TV or at concerts. I was looking for a lightweight (for traveling) keyboard that provided an accurate Hammond organ (and especially Leslie rotary effect) plus had traditional orchestral sounds like an acoustic piano, EP, strings, etc. PLUS easy split-ability and controls/saves, etc. Frankly I've been disappointed in especially the attempt to emulate the Hammond organ and especially Leslie effect. The Leslie has a built in distortion that never goes away. The acoustic pianos don't sound real, and there's a natural push-back on the keys when depressed that seems non-traditional and not normal. For the money I think you'd be better off with a Kurzweil PC3 series board--that does everything this does--but better.

If you do your research, you know what you're getting. And this is a reaaaally good board. Nord makes good stuff. Works just as expected.
