I replaced a Nokia 5530 for the X6, I knew both phones share the same hardware and software (Symbian S60v5) but the X6 offered a better screen, 16GB storage, 3G and GPS. My other options were HTC Wildfire, Samsung Galaxy 3, SE Vivaz and BB Storm2. They were a little bit more expensive than X6 and they didn't really convince me because of different reasons mostly related to resolution, software and apps limitions. So I chose X6, the first time I turned it on, it crashed! but when I could get it to update to the newest firmware available, the device became very friendly, I don't know if it is the capacitive touchscreen or specific firmware optimizations but my X6 was more responsive and fluid than the 5530. Everything was working just fine until last friday when the left speaker of the phone started to sound distorted, the next day it completely died. On monday I took it to Nokia's technical service in my country but as I bought it abroad I couldn't claim the warranty because Nokia doesn't have international warranties! (a bad move for a 'global' company). So I'm here writing this review with a US$20 cellphone in my pocket cause my X6 is at the repair shop and I still don't know how much it will cost (I didn't return it to the eBay seller because that process can be cumbersome). Finally, if I put appart my incident with the malfunctioning speaker, I would say I am pleased with the Nokia X6 after all, certainly it is not an iPhone (not that it intends to) but it is a very good multimedia device for the price.Read full review
I read a lot about this product before I bought him. when the phone arrived i immediately saw that this one is a winner. the touch screen is very responsive and precise, camera quality is excellent for a 5 mega pixels shooter, and it's symbian system contain a ton of options and apps. the 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi work flawlessly. the software it self, the symbian S60v5 works nicely with kinetic scrolling nice and visual effects. its reacts very fast when opening different apps, menus and web sites. overall you can say that it is the best phone in his price category
The best of phone is capacitive screen, has a great response. But is not very precise becuase the fingers do not allow. I don't have big fingers and I have problems to make some tasks like surfing internet. Some links are very dificult to click them. But you can buy a cheap capacitive stylus.
I like the unique design and the specifications of the phone. I like the flash, 5 megapixels, easy texting touch screen with T9 capabilities. The phone has a WIFI wireless internet and Navigation on board which is very helpful to save money instead of buying a car GPS. Overall this phone is not a phone anybody could just get for free at their phone store.
the nokia x6 is such a great device, starting with the free lifetime gps thats work offline avoiding to use any costy additional data package most of devices follow, beside the other free apps thats really usable for daily convience, pics and video resolution are ok for a 5mp cam, wifi internet is fast enough to explore the web.
