Bought this to replace the original 4004S that we just plain wore out. We liked the first one so much that we did it again! This camera is not the one with the most features or fastest autofocus or so on, but it's easy to use and has never let us down. With 35-80mm lens and a macro lens, it's really versatile and has met all of our needs...and it's pretty rugged. Lots of folks say the built-in flash is too weak, but I can say that we never have needed an add-on flash unit for ordinary but low-light pix; no sports action photography for us. Weaknesses: the door latch broke about 10 years ago on the original, and the pop-up flash started having trouble extending. All the electronics still work perfectly.
Worked perfect!!!! Now can sell previously broke camera for $80+ more than cost of this old camera!

At the time it was a useful camera, and if you can find one with an intact back and battery door, no corrosion and a working flash it can be useful. But most have been discarded due to age. The 8008 is a little better and the 6006 is a lot better. Other better options include the N65 and up and even the old 2020 which seems to be rugged. All of these can be had in working condition for under twenty bucks if you are patient. I got a 6006 for 99 cents which was like new.
I wasn't experting a use camera to be that good, over-all condition was good I have not taking pictures with it yet, but it looks like a great camera
Great bargain if you want to shoot film.
