Bought this as a used camera to take on a once in a lifetime hiking trip to Isle Royale National Park in August 2015. I have had other Nikon Coolpix and liked them. The reason I went used is that I didn't want to spend a lot of cash on what would basically be a disposable camera for me. I own a fair amount of high end print and digital cameras and would have loved to have taken them with me, however I knew that the hard knocks of a 7 day wilderness backpacking trip could be hard on quality photo equipment. Bottom line up front - the coolpix L27 kicked ass. I shot 16meg worth of photos. All crisp and clear and extremely easy to take with the little point and shoot. While the zoom isn't massive it is clear. I knew I was giving up top quality, long distant pix for simplicity, light weight and disposabability. I was OK with that. Does it take photos as nice as my Nikon D600 DSLR or my Minolta SLR ? No. And I didn't expect it. It also doesn't weigh 1/10 as much, cost within $800, or cause me any anxiety as I was getting soaking wet huffing and puffing down the Greenstone Trail...plus it fit in my front shirt pocket for those unplanned oppportunity photos when a moose would step out of the underbrush and challenge you for the trail....Read full review

It's a good camera for keeping in my car's glove compartment. The images are not as good as the latest iPhone's on the market, but for a handy camera for those moments when you need it, it's a good value.

I've just received my purchase in the mail 5 days later after it was bought. I am in love with it and have been taking images for hours with it; craft projects, animals, family members. It also came with 2 AA batteries, manual, USB cord to attach to the computer to upload the pictures to it, camera strap for your wrist to carry it around and 2 CDs one for the computer to edit pictures and the other is the online manual. I was so unsure what to purchase but with my brother's help and with all the wonderful reviews I couldn't have made a better choice. What I understand so far is that you can take high resolution pics but are only allowed to take about 2 pictures with that resolution but if you use the lower version you will be able to take around 100+ pictures. Take when there is light but it can even snap good ones in dimmed light. Thank you!Read full review
I purchased this Nikon Coolpix L27 so that I was able to supply better images for my eBay listings. It is a very lightweight camera, and just a little plasticy, but the image quality is fantastic. On/off button rather small. The lens cover does not always close properly when I turn it off, but not really a problem, as I closes fully if I tap it gently. Easy upload to computer with the software Nikon supplies on its website. All in all just what I needed.

This is a great camera! It is fairly simple to use, and picture quality is great for the price and quality of the camera. Just plug it into USB port and it sends the pics to My Pictures file, giving you an option to name the folder automatically and fast. I purchased it to take product pictures for selling on Ebay. Once I figured out that I had to downgrade the image mode to 8m from 16m in order to get the pics to load on site, I have had no issues and picture quality is astounding and sharp. Customers can zoom in and see every item clearly.
