I have a savage .270 WIN. with a high grade Tasco 10x24x50. Nice scope with decent clarity & field of view.It was a good scope just looking through it,but when shooting it was awful It could not hold a good pattern. The savage shoots hard & kicks hard. The tasco could'nt handle it period.I've have eight years in the army in combat arms (2nd AMORED DIVISION HELL ON WHEELS).SO I know guns.It was nothing i was doing wrong, every thing was tight, bore sighted, zeroed.at 100 meters it shoot all over the target(about a 6 inch group sometimes alittle worse. It just would not repeat. So i purchased a nikon ( my original choice) 4.5x14x40 BDC RETICLE and it fixed all my problems and then some!!Now i can shoot a group at 250 meters of an inch and a half and getting better. The BDC RETICLE works really really well.I'll never use any other scope on any of my rifles but NIKON.I also hear the monarch series is even better or as good. That will be my next purchase. All i can say is thanks nikon!!!Read full review
I bought this scope to go on my 300 wsm, which I only use out west. Most of my shots average around 300 yards there, so I wanted some extra zoom power. The side focus was a major plus because I don't like twisting on the bell of a scope in the heat of the moment, expecially when you have a BDC reticle that must be level to be accurate. This is the third Nikon I've bought with the BDC reticle and I really like them. Highly recommended optic.
This Nikon scope is (in my opinion) the best scope for the money , period. The optics are great, the clarity is awesome. I have this exact scope on my Weatherby Mag. and it is perfect. Other scopes that have BDC usually display with lines describing the drop whereas, the Nikon uses circles to display the drop compensation which that makes a hugh difference. I would recommend this product by it's performance alone but couple that with the lifetime warranty, you cannot purchase a better combination anywhere near the price of these. Well worth the investment.
Perfect, I own several of these and this one is like new, thank you. Clear optics, good low light, quality, and dependable
good scope at price. put it on a ruger 6.5 creedmore. i played with the mildots and checked it with my range finder was always within 30 yards so i would say it work. only shot about 50 rounds but it held zero after i tighten it the second time. like it alot more than my weaver for low light. but does not focus real close wich is like 5 feet. but not a big deal. completly happ with it so far.
