BACK OF BOOK SAYS: MARCUS PIERCE a strikingly handsome aristocrat with a wicked reputation inherits guardianship of arabella loring and her two younger sisters and immediately declares his intention to marry them off. but gorgeously defiant arabella sparks frustration and something deeply erotic in marcus. I have always liked nicole jordan's books because unlike the other historical or regencies these have a few more bedroom scenes. most of the regencies have your 1 1/2. but she has several. it's a nice change of pace. I like that they liked each other from the beginning and there was none of the normal no from the heroine. and i like that there was none of the break up for your own good. although there were a few times when i wanted to kick the heroine in the butt for being frustratingly stubborn. i liked that marcus was allowing her to keep her independence etc. there was no mystery or any another plot to keep the readers locked in, so it's just the interaction between the two that set the pace of this book. i'm glad the heroine's antics stopped before they got out of hand like in the warren book i just finished. ok on to bed a beauty.Read full review
I like the way the author tells the story and the ending was great. I got right into the book for sometimes I have to start a book and then restart it 2 to 4 times before I really know what's going on for it's very boring at the start & when I go back to the book I have to read from the beginning again to remember how I got to where I am now to remember what the characters are all about. Sometimes the character description are very boring at the beginning and you don't know who is who until sometimes the middle of the book then you can get into the book. This one was very easy to follow and I was really pleased with the outcome and the way the book was qwritten. Great Job for this author.
First in a trilogy by Ms. Jordan. Marcus Pierce, a handsome aristocrat with a wicked reputation finds that he has inherited guardianship of three sisters. Not wanting the responsibility, he plans to marry them off as quickly as possible, except for maybe the oldest, Arabella Loring. Her high spirit and defiant attitude have peaked his interest. Arabella does not want to marry. Her dreams are to be left alone so she can run a finishing school. Marcus poses a challenge to her, but if she can resist him, she and her sisters will finally be free. The whole story is a game of seduction and pleasure where the rules can change at any time. Ms. Jordan makes this a sizzling read.
For lovers of historical romance novels with racy scenes - this is a good book - really, most of this author's books fit the bill well. Engaging, light reading - good character development, although the plot is a tried and true formula, lovers of these books will not care - it's what we come back for again and again. For me, the test of how good a romance novel was: would I read it again? In this case, yes, I would! and, I would buy the other two books in the trilogy as well - can't get a better compliment than that, I guess...
