I was pleased to find that Bisquick came out with a cookbook that put all their favorite recipes in hardcover! Like others, I have bought the little paperbacks but because of their smaller size they got forgotten in a pile of stuff on my desk or relegated to a kitchen drawer. With this book that won't happen. They've come a long way from just the simple recipes on the box for pancakes, waffles and biscuits. Now there isn't anything you can't do with this baking mix. Impossible Pies have gone from just desserts to main dishes and pancakes have become more than just eggs and milk. Whoever thought that Bisquick would have a Frozen Tiramisu dessert? Just like you, Bisquick has grown up!
I like this book for its spiral binding which lays flat, large pictures and variety of recipes. I also like the "bisquick basics" printed on the inside covers...these are the recipes that usually are printed on the outside of the box. I also have the 2nd volume "Bisquick II" but I actually like this one better. T I collect cookbooks and booklets, and I am partial to Betty Crocker, especially when they are tied to one of their products such as Bisquick. This particular book also contains a nice feature for collectors: scattered throughout are reproductions of vintage Bisquick ads and booklets. Recommended!
Perhaps it's because I'm a child of the 70s and my mom used Bisquick in almost everything she cooked that I am in love with Bisquick and use it myself all the time. In fact, I always buy the mini Bisquick cookbooks sold in the grocery checkout line, and I've never been disappointed. But what's great about this cookbook is its vast array of recipes using the handy baking mix. The breakfasts, appetizers, and desserts are all equally good, and the main dishes include the famous impossible pie recipes. It's a great anthology of Bisquick recipes, and I highly recommend it for Bisquick lovers!
Lots of good recipes made easy and fun. Well worth to have in you kitchen library. Whether you are a Bisquick user or you prefer using just flour...you will want this book. Has shortcut rather than using plain flour. Many recipes that I have tried and we have enjoyed. Have used this book many times during one month. That says a great deal about its usefullness. Well worth the purchase!
My friend used this Betty Crocker Bisquick Cookbook to make the impossible pies. She told me how much her family loved them so I was hoping to find one on EBay to buy. She paid alot more than I did for her book and the one I bought was in perfect condition. I enjoy making easy one dish receipts and this book is full of them. The picture let me see exactly how the dish will look. It has become one of my favorite cookbooks.
