Sure, some of the cartoons are obscure (but then again, so are some of today's New Yorker Cartoons). It's very interesting for me to see humor as it was published in 1925--or 1950. Most of the cartoons are either timeless or they're funny because the reader understands the context of that particular time in history. For a New Yorker reader who enjoys the magazine's cartoons, I would absolutely recommend this book.
This album of drawings is a reminder of my youth. My parents subscribed to the New Yorker magazine and as a kid I loved the cartoons. This is a fun way to 'go back in time'. My children and grandchildren are getting a kick out of it as well.
