I ended up buying this portable hard drive to move my 100gb+ files from just my music sessions, being a music producer. It works great for storing my sessions as backups just in case I have any issues with my older firewire drive. I really like the size, reminds me of a wallet and works as described. Really haven't had any issues or problems with it thus far, so I am happy that it served its purpose. Will be using it for storing music sessions, time machine backup for my mac mini and transporting sessions to other studios. Love the versatility.
Very good value & price, excellent means to keep current backups for your Mac system, especially if you put it on an Apple Airport Express unit. (Combination WiFi Router & 3 Port Switch with a USB connection for options equipment like an external Hard Drive type of device) Was a good choice & easy to use, Plug & Play.

I needed a little back up and this bad boy more than covers all my needs. It was not expensive, holds tons of stuff, and can fit in a shirt pocket. I liked it so much that after it arrived, my wife bought the exact same one because she loved it too. I can not attest to its durability as I have not had it that long.

This is a great product for a great price! Although it's a couple years old, the USB 3.0 is great and transfers files as large as movies very quickly. It's so compact! I was blown away for it being released in 2012. I love mine and I didn't have to bother reformatting it because it's already set up for Mac. I recommend getting a small case to keep it in to prevent scratching and what-not. I recommend this to anyone using a Mac. Otherwise, there is the original My Passport that will work immediately for Windows, or a simple few steps to reformat for Mac. Keep in mind, these are not new. They are manufacturer refurbished which is why they are cheaper. Mine was packaged well and has no noticeable scratches. It looks and functions as new.
Bought the My Passport for Mac to help assure (more so than my cloud backup) I could get all my pics and files back after upgrading the IOS in my desktop. It took three tries to install the IOS but when done I got a screen asking if I wanted to restore with Time Machine. I plugged in the My Passport for Mac, clicked on the "restore with time machine" and voila! everything back except for one old app downloaded years ago (Flip for Mac). BTW, I did first back up with My Passport for Mac before undertaking the IOS upgrade. Would have been nice to have instructions to explain why the light flashed sometimes and was steady sometimes.
