I have been using fixed cleats for the past ten years after switching from floating cleats which were the cause of my knee issues in prior years. Based on the current set up of my fixed cleats I realized in retrospect that when I used the Shimano floating(yellow)cleats my feet never assumed their natural position(angle)in the pedal because of the constant swiveling motion inwards and outwards which put undue strain on my knee ligaments depending on the amount of force applied to the pedals. This effect was further magnified when I was intially using Look floating cleats(red) which had more float nine degrees to be exact before transitioning to the Shimano yellow cleats with less float. After years of gleaning information and acquiring knowledge pertaining to this issue I decided to try the Shimano fixed cleats and within two weeks(period of adaptation) my knee problems were a thing of the past. It is important when installing fixed cleats to make sure that they are correctly angled to allow your cycling shoes when locked into the pedals to mimic the angle of your feet while standing on the floor. This angle relative to the floor can be heel outwards or heel inwards. It is important to note that fixed cleats require meticulous installation to avoid injury and there is very little room for error. I figure this is one reason why some people avoid using them.Make sure you know what you are doing or seek professional assistance. Based on my experience, once properly installed they definitely improve knee comfort and power transfer. The purpose of this review is not to give detailed steps in installing fixed cleats since the installation procedure goes way beyond heel inwards or outwards even though this step is very critical but to share with those who might read this review that fixed cleats have helped to alleviate my knee issues and for my fellow cyclist who have identified FLOATING CLEATS AS THE CAUSE OF THEIR KNEES WOES to consider using fixed cleats to see if those nagging cycling knee issues could be reversed. I highly recommend them since they greatly benefited meπππ and I HOPE they work for you. Read full review

The cleats are perfect. I did want the fixed cleat, but make sure you know what you want, as there is also a cleat with a few degrees of rotation.
