I bought 3 of these from different sellers. Why, because of its durability, SD card, and radio. The camera is 'great' for emergency- the screen view isn't the greatest, but loaded to the computer I am impressed. I seldom use the phone portion.(People do have a hard time hearing due to its watertightness, but a headset resolves the issue. I wanted the phone to listen to radio and teaches loaded to SD card, yet I can buy a sim card for different countries and the phone will be useable as it is a quad band. The speaker is loud and the phone has A2DP so I can listen through a compatible Bluetooth, although for some unknown reason the sound isn't loud enough as I walk... The screen is still susceptible to breakage, but not from 'slamming' the phone shut, nor do I need to be concerned about everyday drops breaking the phone- issues in the past. So, not a fantastic or classy phone, but sturdy with a loud speaker and radio and 8GB SD slot. For the person who is hard on phones, this should work........Read full review
I have had the phone for about 2 weeks now and am very impressed with its ease of use. Transferring files is a snap with the bluetooth (I have not used the data cable yet). I wasn't sure how easy installing java games would be but it also turned out to be very simple, just drag and drop the .jar and .jad files in the myfiles/other files folder and then click on them and install. The radio and mp3 music sounds great. Anyone who buys this though will definitely want the extra micro sd card, as the 7mb internal memory is nothing compared to what you will want to put on it. The camera does well for what it is. It is not a studio camera nor purported to be one, but the pictures it takes are decent and there is a zoom although some of the material said there wasn't. All in all I have really appreciated the phone, and with its sturdiness and ruggedness look forward to a long time of enjoying it too.Read full review
This is a GREAT phone!!! don't expect an iphone or a note 2 and your good. if you want a tough phone that can keep up with you and live to tell the tale, this is it. the functions are extremely basic and the headphones really suck but... I have destroyed the Motorola tundra 3 times already so I decided to move on. This phone can stand up to just about anything. I put this phone through hell... including a motorcycle crash where my pocket was ripped open and it went flying (I think it even got run over in that accident). The only downside that I have seen after having one for around 6 months now is that the rubber near the key ring hole peals back a bit. This is my second one because... well... don't try to use it as a golf ball... believe it or not the screen cracks.
I got this phone because it is water resistant. The phone works well with one major exception, I can not send or retrieve multimedia messages and there is no US support for the phone. When I try to send or retrieve a multimedia message I get an error message "configuration error". The message does seem to be recieved by the phone but it will not retrieve it for display. The phone does not send the message at all. The enclosed manual is very brief and is of little value. When I called Samsung I was politely told it was not a US model so support was not available. So, if you want to send and recieve multimedia messages or might want any support this is definitely not the phone to buy.
