I bought these to put together some keyrings I was making for my Brownie Unit and to be honest they did a lovely job, thin enough to enable me to open very small split rings and to squeeze them shut again. the only criticism I have is that they don't have a protective cover for the tips of the pliers; as I have for my knives and scissors.

Bearing in mind the price of these, they aren't bad for basic, non precision work; if you want precision, or grip, you need something more expensive / different. Pros: 1. Fully polished head - so they have no striation / grips on the head at all, which means they don't have any ability to pull at anything - it will just slide through they grip, no matter how hard a pressure you apply. This does mean they won't mark soft metal or plastic items, so if you're bending silver or gold wire to create a hook for example, they are great. 2. Inexpensive, so they are almost disposable: for a pair of pliers they are very cheap indeed. There's no way you'd get anything of similar quality any cheaper. I expect most people will use these for jobs were, if they get damaged, it won't matter. 3. Not bad to hold: I've owned more expensive pliers like this which had smooth, hard handles, covered with plastic which slipped from my grip too easily. These are covered with a rubber like material. Cons: 1. The rubberized handles bend at the last 5cm as they have no metal core. This is how they saved money I suspect. They've made the metal handle very short, and extended the softer rubber to create a handle that bends easily. It's a real pain when you're trying to get a good turn on a stiff wire to create a hook for example. 2. There is excessive play on my set - so when you scissor the pliers, they wobble. It's almost as if they are badly worn or missing a shim or washer, but when you look closely it's just how they are made. If you need high precision, these won'rt be any use, but for bending or rough work, or even to hold something while doing something that will damage the pliers, they are fine - although the lack of grip on the heads would prohibit most tasks like that I expect.Read full review

These are absolutely vital when working on high performance, high class engines, where you are manoeuvring fine parts and electrical connections in very small places. They are higly responsive to the touch so care needs to be taken in gentle hand applications as the resultant leverage is high due to the length of the jaws. Highly recommend them when working on class car engines.

Not a bad tool as part of a model making, miniature engineering toolset. Medium size for modelling work. No grip texture on inside of blades which Is needed so as not to mark brass pieces when bending.
