Hello, I bought the Roady XT to replace a Delphi SkyFi3 XM receiver. The SkyFi3 took a long time to boot up as it has to analyse its memory before it starts working. The Roady XT just takes a few seconds. I use the XM on a portable camp radio that I built. The SkyFi3 draws about 0.33A while the Roady XT draws about .25A. The only negative aspect of the Roady XT that I have noticed so far is that the remote control does not easily control the line out level. One has to go into the menu to get this function. Mute works fine, however. The Roady XT is much smaller and lighter, too. Generally, I am happy with the new radio.

Too bad this is a discontinued product. It was easy to use and had a built in FM modulator. Not a big deal with newer vehicles but a huge advantage for those running older vehicles/audio systems. Strange as it may seem, there was a time when your vehicle wasn't connected to the Internet or your smart phone. The cassette tape adapter was a nice bit of nostalgia as well.

The Roady XT is a very small XM receiver that can be used in the car or the home. It receives programming from SiriusXM radio including music, news and talk. Its size is a positive as it can fit in the palm of your hand. With available accessories, it can be used in your car. I had one installed in my automobile for several years and accidently destroyed it recently when I purchased a new car. I decided to try to find another XT as the connections were still in my old car. It is not made anymore so EBay was the first place I looked at to find another XT. After a few weeks looking, I found a new XT for sale for a price I could afford. I quickly purchased it and now enjoy it in my old car. When I sell this car, I will use the XT where I work. The XT has other features such as stock quotes, sports scores and alerts when a favorite team is playing. In all, if you are a fan of SiriusXM, the Roady XT can be just what you are looking for in a receiver.Read full review
As times goes by there are fewer of this model available in the market (model 10177). This model allows wireless transmission to nearby radios. This allows transmission to any radio nearby, within a range of nearly 100 ft. Newer renditions need to be hardwired to a particular radio, and wire changed to another radio when you move, or moved very near to the broadcast radio. Buy them as you can as I think their are fewer available every day, and the price is rising.
