As a heavy equipment operator/mechanic, this phone is used in a tough environment. It has hit the concrete several times, and keeps on ticking. I had the flip version of this for many years, and was reluctant to move up to the smart phone, but needed the upgrade for work. I like the size ( including thin profile), it is large enough to see photos clearly(I take pics of difficult to access id plates, vin #'s, etc.) , but will easily fit in a pocket. I think it is a great choice when size, utility, versatility, and especially durability matter.

Rugged yes, full of features yes again, it is a great phone for features but if you need it to stay connected, buy the extended 4800 Mhr battery or get a different phone. starting my day at 6:00 a.m. this phone will last until noon on the 1800 Mhr battery and it is screaming for a charge. not good for someone who sometimes works 24 hours straight. car chargers are a must, also multiple house chargers one for home , another for the office. The only other negative is the amount of ads the kit kat operating system seems to draw. they constantly pop up on the screen and use data, The original Commando had a 18+ hour battery life on a standard battery and no ads, but the features of the new one are sweet. Just need to own a power plant to use them.

I keep buying these phones because they are so durable. the down side is that it doesn't take long before they get clogged with junk and get slow. They are very reasonably priced and a great value. Instead of spending $200-$400 on the latest phone I buy this model refurbished. Refurbished costs me around $45. They work really good for the money. I have had one drop out of my truck, lay in a puddle of water overnight and freeze. When I picked it up, I popped the battery out and tossed it in a bag of rice for a few days. popped the battery back in and the phone fired up immediately.

Sat on the lazy boy crack/ Gorilla Glass my A$$... Never buy Samsung again. Advertised as shatterproof. Bought like 10 batteries for like $8 a pop. Got all charged with a separate charger. Never running out of juice or waiting for full charges. Perfect for Uber. Set Hot Spot use a big Tablet for navigation and movies, etc. Bought Another as a spare since they don't make this type of high quality Navy Seal Required Smartphone.
