I've only had the Netgear R6520 a few months but it has performed very well. I have been required to reboot the system on a few occasions, however, I think that is a problem consistent with most if not all routers. Our area of coverage is just over average with about five devices connected and we have had no trouble getting connected. So far, I am happy with my purchase.

Great router for the price, especially since it runs DD-WRT without issues, especially the well tested KONG version of the DD-WRT third party firmware. I don't use the USB features, but it is great to act as a NAS to serve files on your network or to drive a printer for your network. You can't go wrong with this inexpensive upgrade to the new AC wireless network standard. Why spend hundreds of dollars on the latest, where your current devices can't even take advantage of the system. Plus DD-WRT adds more value, features, and security than the stock firmware will ever provide.

Very easy set-up. 802.11ac is far superior to 802.11n. You must have Cat 6 or Cat 5c cables to get the speed increase and gigabit ethernet or a 802.11ac adapter on your PC's. My speed increase went from 4Mbs to 17Mbs on both gigabit ethernet and a Netgear 802.11ac USB adapter. We have no buffering or stumbles of any kind while streaming movies on 3 PC's at once. Amazing!
