I bought this book because I like having a textbook to which I can refer while studying for a course. This book served as a decent reference, but nothing more. Explanations were paltry and often fell short of my expectations. Most sections consisted of long lists (symptoms, risk factors, etc), but did not explain very much. It's what one expects of an abridged version of a tome like Nelson's. This book served it's purpose.
It is a good book. The chapters are somewhat short and it provides an overview of physiology in addition to its application in treating pediatric patients.
