This is an older game that plays well. It teaches you how to drive a race type car. You need to use your gas and brake. You soon learn you just can not keep your foot on the gas. You have to let off the gas BEFORE the turns and corners. It is great to help teach teen aged drivers basic driving skills. I smell burnt rubber while playing the game. Sometimes I think the SE stands for smell enhanced. NOTE: You need to use DOSBox or some other emulator to run this in Windows you also need to mount the cd rom drive. The commands I use are dosbox prompt z:mount c c: fs z:mount d f: -t cdrom ok the z: is the DOSBox prompt the c and d are the emulated drives the c: fs is the program location finally the f: is my cdrom location -t cdrom is emulating the drive with mscdex (dos) I hope this helps at least one person. p.s. to get full screen press and hold alt + hit enter keyRead full review
This game provides an excellent example of arcade auto racing. The graphics are very nice (not picture perfect). The cars move as they should considering these are exotic machines racing in country settings. Be sure to download the "cheats". That is when the fun begins (especially the 'hollywood' track). Like "moto racer" this game is a blast to play. Not as slick as 'high stakes'; as 'moto racer 2 is to the first one", but well worth the nominal cost. Enjoy the ride!
The game I bought is actually the Need for Speed Special Edition, not the second one. The game is just to enrich your library, for the sake of history. The only issue is that to run the game in Windows Vista it is a great hustle...
