I've used non-oem cartridges, and *usually* they're okay. But if you can find a good price on ebay (from a 5 star seller), buy the real deal. OEMs are far less likely to have issues with the chip, leaks, consistent ink levels, etc. I've had all kinds of printers over the years, and my experience is it's better to spend more to get the genuine article. Epson inks - and the Claria in particular - are bright, consistent, and worth the cost.

Epson company brand inks I have been using since the early 1990's. The inks are second to none. I recommend them.
