This is a nice short novel made for children by Philip K. Dick just reprinted by Subterranean Press. The story is OK, and includes a few of PKD's science-fictional themes: planet colonization, totalitarianism, alien life forms, etc. A better edition exists, however, it is the Gollancz edition, dating from 1988. That edition includes the many line drawings of Paul Demeyer. This Subterranean edition has 4-5 color illustrations which are not quite as nice as the Demeyer ones, IMHO.
Philip K. Dick's only published children's novel is a good find and a great read. This ties into The Galactic Pot Healer where the Glimmung also appears. This is fun for adults and kids. I recommend this for any fan of Philip K. Dick, or of children's novels.
