An excelent family Jesus oriented movie with a great cast of charecters. The opening scene is of the drifter,John Schneider, hitch hiking into a small town. The movie title theme song "What would Jesus Do?" (Which can be found on Adam Gregory's album CRAZY DAYS") is sung by Adam Gregory, who he himself stars in the movie as a young aspiring Christian musician. Our story starts with a stranger / drifter (John Schneider) who drifts into a small town looking for work, and no one will help him.The town's one small church is run by a pastor who has lost his faith in God due to an accident that killed his wife and child. The town is God-less and the people have lost faith in God.In the meantime,an evil villian politician and his criminal henchmen wants to tear down the hosuing project of the poor of the town and tear down the failing church to build a casino,a good idea to some but that would bring even more chaos to the failing town with more drugs and more crime. The myterious drifter impacts the lives of every one around him,as Jesus did when he walked the earth.Soon, the people are convicted in their hearts by the Holy Spirit because of the influence of the mysterious drifter who ask "What would Jesus do?".The drifter (whose name we never learn)mysteriously falls ill,and is diagnosed with cancer, and reported to have not long to live. The town's pastor, who has lost his faith, takes him in and cares for him.In the meantime, the town takes on the battle to revive Jesus in their lives and stop the bad politician from tearing down the poor's housing and church.People start to come back to the church, and to Jesus. They battle the fight to keep their town and church intact,a battle which they win in the end,and the villian is overcome by good and rightiousness of the "Jesus freaks" as he calls them. The people go to thank the mysterious drifter / stranger for helping them realize that Jesus has changed their lives in a possitive way.But he is no longer in the pastor's house dying...he is gone...just gone!We then see the mysterious drifter in the last scene, healthy as can be,with his backpack on his back, out on a vast desolate highway with his thumb out, hitch hiking, perhaps going to change the lives of people in the next town he lands in.We are left with a feeling that exactly WHO was this stranger we never knew his name? I got the feeling it was Jesus himself in disguise, traveling from town to town, profoundly changing the lives of people for the glory of God.Adam Gregory's song "What would Jesus do" and the movie's message of Christ, has US pondering how we might be able to help our fellow man...as Jesus would have done...A must see movie for all people who believe in hope of the message of Jesus Christ.Read full review

Good modern adaptation of In HIs Steps by Charles Sheldon. 2013 film titled In His Steps is nowhere near as good as this movie due to the acting.
