This book is written more to the student entering college than to the parent. It is a quick read & may be eye-opening for many high school grads who have no idea that college professors, in general, do have an agenda, & are not necessarily there to open their eyes to all aspects of life by presenting both sides of each argument fairly. Most parents are aware of this, altho' perhaps not to the extent that this book reveals. It is definitely a helpful book for those students & parents who have concerns about what the student will be taught in college & how this will most likely differ from what the student has been brought up to believe in a more conservative, traditional home. It is essential that every student be prepared to defend his/her beliefs if they are serious about them, & this book will be a great aid in that regard.Read full review
This little 172pp book prepares the student for what's really coming at college - twisted anti-parental professors, sex, drugs, alcohol, and a culture that deliberately aims to undermine the family and what's left of the culture. The book suggests ways to determine if you are prepared (or just think you're prepared) and suggests categories of colleges to avoid. University isn't what it used to be and frankly, most kids don't make it through without profound damage. (This book is pretty simple and doesn't cover the more subtle dangers. See also ISI's much more comprehensive and college-specific "Choosing the Right College" series, and my review of them.)
