Seems higher quality than the stock ruger extended polymer. I know polymer is strong these days but the metal seems more rugged to me. Just the right size to make mag releases easy. Installs super easy...take gun out of stock push a pin out remove old install new push pin back in...not sure if paint will hold up over time, it may but I don't care...I could see this getting snagged in the brush and dropping a mag so maybe the flush release has its place, but for plinking this release is a great upgrade for not a lot of money

I was in the market for two metal emrs when I was replacing the all polymer parts on my thompson and reising replica 10/22s. I liked the fact that the UTG emr is similar in size and profile to the oem ruger emr but metal. I think the funky shapes of most metal releases fit the replica look. The firment was refreshing compared to other metal releases like tactical inc, as it fits relatively tight without rattles. The fulcrum point is better as well, with responsive disengagement that doesn’t hit the longer magazines. The finish is a little thin on the edges, but that is easy to remedy. I was happy with my purchase and pleased by the price.

Feels more solid and overall quality is ok. It's painted and will surely flake off- its steel but bluieing will not take to this metal. I stripped it to discover this fail. It will add weight if that is a concern. I am sure the polymer version would not break under normal use. This is about the same dimensions of the stock factory extended magazine paddle with a more forward familiar angle for AK owners. Being steel will should hold up to facticool reloads with a full magazine being used to knock the empty one free- if that's your thing. I could not perform a mag change like this with the factory's part. The longer pricier release levers seem to have unintended bump release concerns so I opted out. Overall I'm happy with it. Made in Taiwan. Steel? It will barely stick to a magnet and blue not working makes me wonder what kind of recycled tuna can this steel is.Read full review

The extended magazine release is an easy upgrade to any 10/22 that has the push button. This makes magazine removal a one hand operation and it only took 10 minuets to install.

The UTG Extended Mag Release is easy to install and outperforms the OEM plastic/polymer piece of cr.. . The action is smoother and doesn't feel loose or sloppy . It is easy to remove some material from the front if you need a tighter mag fit . Because it's steel the release tang lends well to custom alterations if you're handy with a welder. Rich
