Civilization doesn't spend much time in Blight County, Idaho. There the land and its wildness has more influence than social media. In the four corners of this nation, society grows wild and the people live by the ways of nature. In this world, Bo Tully is a snarled mixture of king and wizard. Sheriff, artist, folk hero, a man with a past and a way with the locals. The Blight Way. If you're a Pat McManus fan, you'll love the pithy, self-depricating humor in The Tamarack Murders. Rancid Crabtree and Retch Sweeny may be missing, but Batim Scrags, Indian Dave and Lurch are in there and we'll add Gridley Shanks. A way with names and a way with mystery. To delve too far into this tale would rob the reader. No deep earth-moving questions will be answered; if that's what you're after, go elsewhere. The Tamarack Murders is more adventure and escape. Some thirty years ago, I lived in the Pacific Northwest and I knew the people in that wild land. In the the years since I left, I would like to think that it's still that way.
