Having been a Texan most of my life, and a resident of San Antonio, I've had a lot of oppourtunity over the years to study the history of the Alamo. I've just started adding DVD's on the subject to my collection, and this one gives some good, basic information on the events that occured in February and March of 1836. Nothing earth-shaking here, but a good video to get started on.
Not so good. Not much historical information

Excellent movie...true to actual events compared to other movies about the Alamo. May appear slow moving but enables the viewer the opportunity to understand the long wait for the men at the Alamo regarding the inevitable end to come as Santa Ana's troops advance towards them. Beautiful scene with Billy Bob Thorton responding to their music with his violin. Absolutely worth the money, especially for those with an appreciation for history.
