After checking the float adjustment installed just fine and runs my old (early '90's) 5 hp Tecumseh engine mower just fine. I was surprised to note that the carb, unlike the one it's replacing, does not use a seat--the seat is raw brass and the needle has a rubbery tip on it. Not sure what rebuild kit will work but will cross that bridge down the line. FYI mine used a plastic float (I like it since I've had bad luck with the soldered ones) and an adjustable needle out the bottom jet; again, although my original had no adjustable needle I didn't mess with it when I took it off and it ran great as is. Gaskets were included and worked fine.

The fuel inlet fitting hit the side of the engine block , so I had to heat my old carb with a torch and pull out and reuse the old fitting , it's a press fit . The air filter mounting does not leave much room to get a clamp on the air filter housing , because the screws get in the way . If the manufacture can make the fuel fitting closer to the carb I would give this thing 5 stars all day cause this old lawnmower SCREAMS with performance !!!! I can adjust fuel mixture which is awesome .

Needed this for a tecumseh Powered older toro lawnmower. On the OEM carb the nipple for the fuel line could rotate to any position for optimal fuel flow. The aftermarket carb has a fixed nipple with existing fuel hose it would not work. It would link the line. The only way to make the carb work was to install a new longer fuel line. Other than that...mower starts as if it was brand new!

I left gas in my trusty old Craftsman Eager1 mower sit for too long and the carburetor was nasty! I didn't even try starting it because the fuel bowl was a crusty mess. I usually spend the time to clean and rebuild the carburetors, but for just a little more money than a rebuild kit, I purchased a replacement carb. I received it very quickly, bolted it on, connected the linkage and fuel line, filled the gas tank (after flushing), and 2-pulls later I had my mower back running perfectly! I will certainly consider purchasing a new carb over rebuilding it the next time I forget to drain the fuel before storing!

got this carb to replace the factory original mower part and i regret it. although it was direct bolt on change it does work but with proviso. the factory setting is 1 1/2 turns from closed according to online documentation, however this makes the engine jerk and surge and is NOT usable, in order to get the engine to run reliably with this carb you have to adjust the idle screw so it idles high and this in turn leads to using more fuel. to put it in perspective, factory settings found online stats 1 1/2 turns from closed, the carb i got is somewhere between 3/4 and 1 turn from closed, this makes it run and work but at a much faster speed than the stock carb it replaced.
