Author Biography
Christian, mother, skilled electrician and poetess - Kendall E Reaves began her career as an Artist of the Spoken Word in 1997. A Change of Seasons: Poetry Depicting Life, Love and Religion her first book is still in print and sold more than 1500 copies. Her new book, Simple Tips Rules to Live by for the College Bound Student is a re-write of College Bound 101: Simple Rules to Live By, inspired by her own children's transition into college life. This is a resource guide for students who want to stay focused, grounded and on the path to a successful college experience. Kendall has also produced recorded jazz readings with Kevin Collins and Wil Nenja Frelix; and another, A Little Rain with Ebenezer Ministries in Flint, Michigan, all receiving air time on local radio stations. Reaves writes customized poems for special events and occasions, which have been requested for educational and religious events, special occasions and important milestones in personal life. Her greatest honor however, was to be asked to write and present a poem for her daughter's high school graduation. Kendall is a product of Flint, Michigan, attended Flint Southwestern High School, Mott Community College, Ferris State University and Eastern Michigan University. She is currently employed as a Skilled Electrician for General Motors. She is an active member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where her pastor is the Rev. Dr. Major A. Stewart. A single mother of two young adults, she is also a member of Zeta Beta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Get more information on Kendall E.
