excellent research was made by the seven journalists who wrote this book. Every manager of an organization with social responsibility would get an idea from it how failure instead of preparedness could make any catastrophy much more deadly than necessary. The breakdown of communications systems, the appropriate research on models of the levees after and not before the storm, chaos in the places where the weakest, the elderly and the sick people were gathered, the failure of several organizations from Red Cross to FEMA, the tricks of the insurances to pay as few as possible, and a political background and regional history that was a good base for failure. Several pictures are added to the well-written texts, showing people who are mentioned in the text or the situation after the storm. 20 extra-pages with notes about the sources give an impression of how substantial and well-founded the texts of the book are. Having seen documentations about the hurricane aftermath I have a comparison, and the result of it is that I say "Yes, I recommend the book"Read full review
